We believe in…
- The unity of God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit; three persons, all equally one God.
- The supreme authority of God in creation, revelation, salvation, restoration and final judgment.
- Jesus Christ as absolutely God and perfectly human; His virgin birth, His perfect life, His death in our place, His bodily resurrection, His elevation to the right hand of God, and His coming again in glory.
- The disobedience and guilt of all people before a holy God, causing people to be separated from Him and subject to His final judgement.
- Jesus Christ’s sacrifice in our place, as the sole and sufficient grounds of freedom from the guilt and the power of our disobedience against God, and its eternal consequences.
- God’s forgiveness, solely on the basis of His grace and mercy, through faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on our behalf.
- The Holy Spirit’s living presence in every follower of Jesus Christ, teaching us about God and our identity in Him, interceding on our behalf, making us more like Jesus and empowering us to live a Godly life. The Holy Spirit convicting, empowering and equipping us, providing insight for day-to-day living, works of service and bearing good fruit. The Holy Spirit uniting the church as the body of Christ and demonstrating God’s healing, restorative and transformative love for the world.
- The divine inspiration and final authority of the Bible as the Word of God in all matters relating to belief, faith and daily living.
- Baptism, by total immersion, as an outward sign of repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
- Regularly celebrating communion through bread and wine to remember Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection, and our new life in Him.
- The independence of the local church, under the headship of Jesus Christ, and the spiritual authority, integrity and accountability of its servant leaders.
- The encouragement, equipping and releasing of every follower of Jesus Christ in using spiritual gifts for worship, service, ministry, building up of the church body, sharing the Good News about Jesus Christ and advancing the Kingdom of God through the supernatural demonstration of His power.
- Marriage as the union of one man and one woman for life, to the exclusion of all others, and that marriage is the only place for a sexual relationship.
- The future return of Jesus Christ who will judge all people, exercising God’s justice, and receiving those He has rescued to live with God forever.
